Heal Country
Supporting First Nations-led restoration of forests, rivers, wetlands, coastlines and culturally significant landscapes through ecological restoration, conservation and long-term stewardship.
Restoring Country. Strengthening Culture. Creating opportunity.
Explore the initiativeFor more than 65,000 years, First Nations peoples have cared for Country through knowledge, culture and connection. Today, many Traditional Owner groups are leading the restoration of forests, rivers, wetlands and culturally significant landscapes, but often face barriers in accessing the funding, partnerships and public support needed to bring these visions to life.
Heal Country. Heal Culture. is HalfCut's national initiative to help change that.
We exist to connect Aboriginal corporations, Traditional Owner groups and First Nations communities with funding, partnerships, corporate support and community fundraising that enables Country-led restoration and long-term conservation.
Our role is simple: to help bring people, purpose and funding together so First Nations communities can continue leading the care of Country.
Support Heal Country. Heal Culture. We are proud to have launched Heal Country. Heal Culture. alongside the Jabalbina Yalanji Aboriginal Corporation, the first partner organisation in this national initiative.
Together, we are restoring sections of the Wet Tropics World Heritage Area through rainforest restoration, biodiversity recovery, cultural leadership and meaningful employment for Traditional Owners.
This partnership demonstrates what is possible when communities, businesses, philanthropists and First Nations organisations work together to deliver lasting environmental and cultural outcomes.
As the program grows, our vision is to support many more Aboriginal corporations and Traditional Owner groups across Australia.
